About the book
Every Sunday, in a small country church, a priest stands up in front of people who have had a long week. These sermons were born there, between the farm work, the funerals, the baptisms and the everyday worries.
There is no grand theory here and no moralising. They talk about the tiredness we carry without mentioning it, family rows, forgiveness that costs something, joy that comes back unannounced. The voice is that of a man who knows his parishioners by their first names, and who knows that a short homily is a better-heard one.
Faithful believers, part-time believers, the curious and the frankly sceptical: everyone can find a line here to carry through the week.
A book to open at random, in the morning with a coffee, or in the evening when the day has been long.
Forgiveness doesn't erase the past: it liberates the future.
